Privacy Policy
BearLine VPN ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.
1. Information We Collect
BearLine VPN does not require an email address, phone number, or any other personal information to create an account.
When you register, our server generates a unique anonymous identifier called a Bear-ID (format: BEAR-XXXX-XXXX). This ID is not linked to any personal data.
Data stored locally on your device:
- Your Bear-ID and authentication tokens (encrypted using AES-256)
- VPN server configurations imported from your subscription
- Subscription metadata (update time, expiry, traffic counters)
Support messages
If you choose to contact us through the in-app support chat, we store the messages you send and our replies, linked to your Bear-ID, so that we can answer your request. The content of these messages is entirely up to you; we ask you not to include sensitive personal information. Support conversations are stored on our own servers and are never shared with third parties. They are deleted together with your account.
We do NOT collect or log:
- Your name, email address, or phone number
- Your browsing history
- DNS queries
- Network traffic or its content
- Your real IP address
- The websites or services you access through the VPN
2. How We Use Your Data
- Bear-ID and authentication tokens — to authorize API requests and provide access to VPN subscriptions.
- Server configurations — to establish VPN tunnels on your device.
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising or analytics purposes.
3. VPN Tunnel — No-Log Policy
BearLine VPN operates a strict no-log policy:
- We do not monitor, record, or store any VPN tunnel traffic.
- We do not record which websites or services you visit.
- We do not record connection timestamps or session durations.
4. Security
Authentication tokens are stored in the operating system's secure credential storage — the Keychain on macOS and iOS, and encrypted storage (AES-256-GCM) on Android. All communication with our servers uses HTTPS (TLS 1.2+). Cloud backup of credentials is disabled.
5. Account Deletion
- Signing out of the app immediately clears all locally stored tokens and configuration data from your device.
- You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly in the app: Settings > Account > Delete Account. Deletion is immediate and irreversible; it removes your Bear-ID, subscription state, and support history from our servers. Alternatively, you may contact us at support@bearline.net with your Bear-ID.
6. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. Since we collect no personal information, there is no risk of inadvertent collection of children's data. If you have concerns, contact us at support@bearline.net.
7. Your Rights
Because we do not collect personal data, most GDPR/CCPA rights (access, correction, portability) are satisfied by design. You may request deletion of your account at any time directly in the app: Settings > Account > Delete Account. Alternatively, you may contact us at support@bearline.net with your Bear-ID.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
